1. News

Welcome to the latest issue of the Homeworking Ideas newsletter, the monthly publication which gives you all the latest news from the UK on ways of earning money from home.

Online Seminar: Successful Home Working
The Telework Association are holding their next webinar on September 29th starting at 2.00pm. It will provide practical advice for people who are new to working at home or who are thinking of working this way. If you want to work successfully at home, this webinar will provide useful advice, whether you are setting up your own business, working as a contractor or are an employee. It will cover the psychological as well as the practical issues faced by home workers and contains advice from experienced teleworkers as well as experts.

There will be video excerpts from interviews with several home workers talking about their personal experience and passing on their advice to others.

The webinar is being run by Chris Ridgewell who is a Director of both the Telework Association and Wisework and has a wealth of experience on this topic. He will be joined by Shirley Borrett who will talk about how to find home based work.

The event is FREE for members of the Telework Association and £35 to non members. To apply for a place email shirley@telework.org.uk.

Paid Survey News

The end of summer has seen major activity with many companies re-opening their doors to new participants or setting up new panels. The following are particularly recommended:

Springboard
With Springboard you will have the chance to make your opinion count in boardrooms, government and the media. You earn Survey Dollars redeemable for cash or charity donations and will be entered into the £1000 Prize Draw just for joining. Most of their surveys award between 50p and £2.50 if you qualify and complete them. They are open to UK residents over the age of 16 but are particularly in need of male participants between the age of 18 and 24. Find out more and sign up at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/springboard.htm

They have also just launched a new panel for people who have gambled online within the last six months. If you fit the bill you can sign up at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/springboard18.htm

PineCone Research
PineCone Research doesn't allow you to sign up directly through their site but do occasionally place recruitment ads from time to time inviting new members, and are currently in the middle of a recruitment drive.

Once a member, expect to get a survey to complete once ever six weeks, for which you don't ever appear to get screened out. You are always paid £4 (may be about to change as current banners mention £3) in Cash via Paypal or Luncheon Vouchers (virtually as good as cash as they can be used nearly everywhere that sells prepared food, including supermarkets and fast food outlets). In addition, several surveys then offer you the chance to test new products, and you're then sent a full size product to try out. I've received full size cleaning products, drinks, crisps, confectionery, sauces and more. This is one of my favourite panels so I'd strongly recommend grabbing the chance if you're not already a member. Find out more at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/pinecone.htm

Business Opinions
This is a new panel that requires the views and opinions of a wide range of the business community. This means Business Opinions isn't for everyone as they are only looking for the opinions of professional people (eg business owners, those in management positions, professionals in such sectors as engineering, teaching, medical, legal, IT etc.)

As you might expect, this means that they only pay out in cash, rather than vouchers, gifts etc. You can cash out at just £20. Within each email you receive, you will be told how many credit points (Each point is worth 1 pence) completing the survey is worth. This will range depending on the survey length as they reward you more for the time spent on each survey but could be as much as £150 for an hour of your time.

By simply registering and completing the double opt in process the participant will be entered into a draw to win a home office suite including laptop, printer and BlackBerry. If you qualify for this panel you can sign up at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/bops.htm

Challenge 21 Mystery Shopping
If you're 18, 19 or 20 oldenough2drink.co.uk could have the perfect work for you. If you're at university or college or even in full time work, they have work which can fit around what you do. Challenge 21 mystery shopping means that you can get paid to shop, eat and drink in areas close to you and keep what you buy.

Challenge 21 is a government backed scheme introduced by the British Beer and Pub Association, which encourages shops, supermarkets, pubs and bars to ask young people for proof of age identification when purchasing age restricted products.

There can be serious consequences for businesses if they do sell age restricted products to under-age people. Mystery shopping companies are often asked to visit outlets to check that staff are asking for ID.

For you it's straightforward; they tell you where they would like to visit with a form of photo identification and what they'd like you to buy. All you have to do is buy the product and note if you are asked for ID. There are a couple of questions to answer afterwards and submit online, and that's it!

You get paid to do the mystery shop, paid travelling expenses, paid parking if you need to park up and of course they reimburse you as well as getting to keep what you buy which could be alcohol, cigarettes, DVDs, etc.

The £2,500 Per Week eBay PowerSellers Secrets
Whilst most of my recommedations relate to online business opportunities, I know that many of you aren't interested in creating and promoting a website, so this month I've got something a little different

If you're looking for something instant and tangible, where you can sell easily-available stuff for a guaranteed profit, that generates money almost immediately and doesn't involve a steep learning curve, then this idea could be for you. It doesn't involve jumping on the latest information marketing bandwagon and is a proven business model that doesn't require complex marketing strategies or technical prowess to make it work.

One of the first things that impressed me about 'The £2,500 Per Week eBay PowerSellers Secrets' is that the author isn't some marketing guru who's come up with a business idea and sold it without proving it works. She's a genuine self-made eBay entrepreneur so if you want someone to hold your hand and lead you into this business, this is the sort of person you should be following.

Secondly, the manual is incredibly clear and easy to follow. It covers everything, from setting up to drop-shipping so you don't need to store your own products including reveals how to get stuff wholesale and sell it with a hefty mark-up. She actually gives away her best wholesale and drop-ship sources which will have taken her months if not years to find.

To keep the information up to date you get access to a members' website packed with details of product suppliers including:.

  • A massive selection of Search Engine driven wholesale sources for almost every product you can imagine
  • A free to join dropshipping and wholesale site based in the UK. Jam-packed with a huge selection of products
  • Details of a U.K Retailer and wholesaler of Slimming Pills and Supplements.
and useful tools that let you:
  • Learn how to find the most popular items on eBay, check feedback, use the eBay seller history tool to study what a user has sold and how much they have made on eBay...and loads more!
  • Create a logo for your eBay Shop in minutes with loads of designs to choose from
  • Add a video to your eBay listings absolutely free!
  • Analyse Listing Titles - Simply input your keywords and 'BayEstimator' will calculate how successful your chosen keywords will be in your listing title.
  • Generate eBay Listing . Simply fill in the template with the details of your product and watch your listing be created

Ideal even if you have never even looked at the eBay website before, have no business experience, have low amounts of capital, are looking for something strictly part time and even if you don't know what product to sell, don't know where to get the products from and don't know how to list products on eBay

This is a professionally printed and bound home study course - NOT an e-book. It will be posted to you via Royal Mail and comes with a 30 day guarantee. Visit http://www.homeworkinguk.com/ebay.htm for more information:
