Internet Homeworking Directory - home based clerical work

COMPANIES OFFERING HOME BASED CLERICAL WORK

This site deals with UK opportunities. Also included are a selection that do not offer genuine work but are an example of the plausible offers you may see advertised in newspapers or receive in the post.* If you contact me to request information, I will explain why they are not genuine and issue guidelines to ensure you are not caught out by these companies in the future.

*This warning only refers to those ads in the scam section at the bottom of this page only. All other offers are genuine.

If you are based outside the UK, please click here for the international site.

For all the latest news reports about homeworkers and flexible working, take a look at our media page.

If you've had any experience of any scams, please e-mail me on scam@homeworkinguk.com giving me details of the company involved and any details you have. Contact phone number appreciated as we frequently have TV, radio and press researchers requiring case studies.

WORKING 5 TO 9

Enterprise Nation has launched a free guide for 5 to 9'ers, those people starting or growing a home business in their spare time, after work. It combines some great statistics, tips and ideas and can be downloaded from http://www.enterprisenation.com/Resources/p/w/8/Working%205%20to%209.pdf

Business Researchers

Compariter is a firm of business intelligence consultants established in 1999. Nearly half of their clients are creative businesses. They provide a range of services mostly based around the marketing and selling of their clients' services to their clients. Services include general consultancy, marketing databases and other control systems, marketing planning and execution and eCommerce business lead services.

They currently require people to telephone companies in the UK and Australia. You do not need to live in either of these countries to do the work. They are looking for people with good telephone skills to work from home. You must have a computer plus a broadband or other reasonably fast Internet connection. You'll never need to be a computer geek, just a basic user and they will guide you all the way.

They are looking for researchers, people with a pleasing telephone manner, who can call large companies and gather information which is of value to their clients. This is not telephone selling. You are not required to be pushy! However you do need the confidence to ask questions and record the answers. You are likely to be a good conversationalist with a genuine interest in people.

You can realistically expect to earn up to £15 to £20/AUD30 to AUD40 per hour. Depending on your ability you may earn a bit more or a bit less. You need to make telephone calls and talk to busy business people. The calls need to be made during normal weekday business hours. There is no limit to the number of hours you may wish to work during the working week. You can do as much or as little as suits your circumstances.

Apply online at http://www.compariter.net/apply/apply.php

Market Researcher Interviewers

The Survey Shop is recruiting Telephone and/or Face-to-Face Interviewers for both daytime or evening work.

You should be someone whom others are happy to talk to, have a clear voice, and good communications skills. You will be home based and will need a landline phone.

The hours are very flexible with no selling and full support given. The rates of pay are £6.24/hr for consumer surveys, £8.32/hr for business surveys, and £10.40/hr for face-to-face interviewing with higher rates for foreign language interviewing. Daytime or evening and weekend assignments are available. Get further details and apply online at www.thesurveyshop.com/ or call 0800 849 7170

 Envelope Work

Not to be confused with envelope stuffing scams, DQM is the leading UK supplier of tracking services to businesses who sell mailing lists. This means they need home workers who agree to be added to mailing lists and then return mail to them - in return for a little extra cash. They now urgently need to extend their network to all areas of the UK and World-wide.

All you have to do is agree to receive mail at your home address. When mail arrives that is not addressed to you write the date and time of delivery on the envelope and once a week send all the mail back to them in a prepaid bag that they supply. They supply and pay for anything you might need including bags and postage charges.

They are looking for people who are going to be based at the same address for at least 2 years and can check their mail most days. You also need to be able to post a bag back to them once a week.

If interested, apply online at http://www.dqmgroup.com.

NEW - Mystery shoppers now also required.

Don't forget to check out our mystery shopper and survey pages for more companies who require research and surveys to be carried out on-line. You'll also find details of websites who pay you to provide reviews and content on our online reviews page
